
Miami Realtor® Moe Veissi was recently named Florida’s 2003
Realtor of the Year by the 90,000-member Florida Association of Realtors® (FAR).
The lifetime achievement award was presented at FAR’s recent 87th annual
Convention & Trade Expo in Hollywood.
Veissi is owner/broker of Veissi & Associates and served as the 2002 president
for FAR. Upon accepting the award at the recent convention, he thanked his
fellow Realtors for the honor and said, “Generally, you think over the
achievements of the year (he served as 2002 FAR president), but what I want you
to know is that year could never have been accomplished had it not been for all
the people who supported me.”
Veissi was recognized for more than three decades of service to the real estate
profession and the community. A member of the Realtor Association of Greater
Miami and The Beaches, he has served as chairman and a member of nearly every
committee at the local level. He also was a past president of the Coral Gables
Board of Realtors and was twice selected as Realtor of the Year. Along with
being the 2002 FAR president, Veissi has served in every other officer capacity
for the state association, has chaired 13 FAR committees and/or task forces and
served on 28 FAR committees and/or task forces. He has also served on numerous
committees and groups for the National Association of Realtors (NAR).
Veissi has made numerous contributions to the community, including working with
various youth sports groups and school activities. He was twice appointed as the
economic development chairman for the city of Coral Gables by that city’s mayor
and city commission. He also served a member of the city’s Property Advisory
Board and as a member of the Dade County Board of Rules and Appeals. Gov. Jeb
Bush appointed Veissi to his state Task Force on Cost Accounting and also to the
governor’s transitional Task Force on Growth Management.
